CORE PRIME METAL SKIRMISH V

Download This is a 12x12 metal map of the Core army's AI testing ground. This map is a flat metal arena with no distinguishing features except for the center sewage pit and various exhaust vents located in each of its four corners. There's no wind and there's not so much as a rock for an Arm Flea to hide behind. So the only defense an army gets to use when battling here is whatever defense it builds. This map is good for 2, 4, and 8 players.

Designer's Note: We designed this map to see how various metal AI's played out in the open. We wanted to see pure raw fighting between armies without worrying if units were getting trapped between factories and walls, or if pathfinding was slowing units down to a crawl. WARNING: Armies will rush each other (if they're programmed to) on this map.



CORE BOOT CAMP VI

Download This map features a boot camp located on a small metal moon that Core units train on before going to battle. The sewer channel has a strong current and there is no wind. The METAL GROUND AI is included with this map.

Designer's Note: The reason why we added bridges to this map was because we wanted AI's that ground-rush to be able to reach us on the other side of the channel. Multiplayers who enjoy a tricky ground rush should have fun with this one. The AI included with this map plays tougher than Cavedog's AI. Be sure you have the TA 3.1 patch installed for the new AI to work.







DOWNTOWN SHOWDOWN III

Download This 12 x 12 urban map features what is left of an Arm civilian city built long ago on a metal-rich world.

Brutally bombarded from orbit by the Core, this once great metropolis is now just a series of huge craters which the rains have filled over time.

Fortunately, most of its citizens were able to evacuate the city the day before as sirens warned of the city's coming doom. Those that couldn't find transportation out of the city in time were later rewarded by a vision later that evening of three spheres of fusion, a hundred times brighter than their nearest star, falling on them.

For years the Core have enjoyed their new found world for its abundant metal, just as the Arm did from which they built their once proud utopia.

Now the Arm have returned to this destroyed downtown. Not to rebuild it. But to build their armies and annihilate the Core.

Installation: TA:CC and the 3.1 patch are required to play on this map. Copy the "Downtown Showdown III.ufo" file to your TOTALA folder. Enjoy!

Computer AI: This map comes with METALURBAN.TXT for its AI profile. The profile is built into the map's UFO file and doesn't require an individual TXT file. If you want to use your own urban AI on this map, copy your favorite urban map AI to C:\CAVEDOG\TOTALA\AI\METALURBAN.TXT so you can use it with this map.

Revisions: This version of Downtown Showdown has a few streets that were widened and more varied buildings were added. A tougher AI was also included.

STONE GEYSER CANYON

Download This 15 x 15 map features a forest/desert canyon with lots of thermal vents. It is rich in both metal and energy which the AI and human players can make good use of. Beware of forest fires! The map will slowly become a desert during play, so strategies may change in the late game.

Installation: TA:CC is required to play on this map. Copy the "Stone Geyser Canyon.ufo" file to your TOTALA folder. Enjoy!

Computer AI: This map comes with METALGROUND.TXT for its AI profile. The profile is built into the map's UFO file and doesn't require an individual TXT file. If you want to use your own AI on this map, copy your favorite metal or forest AI to C:\CAVEDOG\TOTALA\AI\METALGROUND.TXT so you can use it with this map. Let us know how your AI works out!

Credits: The terrain for this map was created by Slowhandd as part of his Cliffs of Kashmir map series. I re-featured the existing terrain with lots of trees and rocks to make it more forest-like.



ICED PLATEAUS

Download This is an 8 x 8 ice water map with lots of shallow trenches. Subs will attack if you ground yourself. Strong currents and strong wind provide good energy. The NEWBIE AI (included in this map) is quick to build Millenniums and Warlords. You have been warned. UPDATE: NEWBIE is now an even tougher AI. Download the latest version.

Installation: TA:CC is required to play on this map. Copy the "Iced Plateaus.ufo" file to your TOTALA folder. Stay warm while playing in the cold.

Computer AI: If you want to use your own AI, copy your favorite WATER or DEFAULT AI to C:\CAVEDOG\TOTALA\AI\NEWBIE.TXT so you can use it with this map.

MICRO TA MACHINES II

Download This is an updated version of the pre-TA:CC classic Micro TA Machines map. It's a 16 x 16 sized RPG tabletop boardgame version of TA. More lead (well, pewter) miniatures from TA:CC have been added to the game, as well as a tougher AI player.

Installation: TA:CC is required to play on this map. Copy the "Micro TA Machines II.ufo" file to your TOTALA folder. Bring your lucky dice with you.

Computer AI: If you want to use your own AI, copy your favorite DEFAULT AI to C:\CAVEDOG\TOTALA\AI\NEWBIE.TXT so you can use it with this map.
